There is something magical about a quaint small town main street; add Christmas into the mix and you can find something special.
Not far from my sister's house is the lovely city of Grapevine - the self-proclaimed Christmas Capitol of Texas. Since it was a beautiful and sunny Texas day, we decided to go check it out, with hopes of small crowds in our hearts,
The charming downtown is especially popular for its many tasting rooms, boasting delicious Texas-grown wines. On past visits, my sister and I have enjoyed wines in several uniquely designed tasting rooms. This time, with the weather on our side, we kept mostly outdoors, strolling past shops, people, and decorations, enjoying a beautiful, sunny afternoon.
There was a Who-ville themed village (not whoreville like it originally read) that boasted several picture taking opportunities. My reading struggles continued when I asked Anna, "who are Bel and Eve?" She gave me a strange look and told me, "you should go stand in between them."
We picked up some wine from Grapevine Springs winery, a place we visited 3 or 4 years ago. Their dessert wine is so decadent, I still remember it years later and knew it would the perfect addition to our Christmas dinner.
In addition to a small glass of wine to go, we also stopped at the delicious Main Street bistro and bakery where I may or may not have succumbed to the draw of a chocolate éclair. Oh, and we bought some Mini pies for our dinner too!
There's a lot more to discover in Grapevine and I look forward to visiting again, post Pandemic.
I love Grapevine and have enjoyed my time there whenever I visit the area! Thanks for sharing; their Christmas experience sounds fun! Putting the "I" in BEL-EVE is a hoot!
